[No, he's not at the wrong door. Idia's just face to face with Fearless's chest when he looks at the peephole.]

No one says that anymore. [He thought you were from the future... Idia folds his arms over his chest.] What do you want? Can't you text?

[This literally could have been an email.]

[Leaning down to peer into the peep-hole;]

[Opens and closes his mouth. That's so fucking annoying. Fearless definitely realizes how annoying it is, too, which is worse! Ugh.]

Did you think about if I don't want to either? [... Sigh.] Why should I?

[Shifting side to side;]

I need to talk to you.

[At first it feels like Idia's just gonna stand there and not do anything. The silence stretches a beat too long. Then Fearless can hear the door unlock, a sliver of Idia's tired mug in the doorway.]

[Fearless's shoulders fall, and he sighs, because— really?]

Kind of an inside-the-room conversation, my guy.

[Yeah, that really would be best for literally everyone. Idia isn't the type of person who wants to have any conversation in view or earshot of another living breathing thing.]

[That doesn't stop his jittering nerves. Still, he steps out of the way and holds the door open.]

[Fearless lumbers his way in, all the way in, to the opposite side of the room, so that Idia is closest to the door, before he says anything else.]

Damn. Really is a cave in here, isn't it.

[Motions with his finger to kind of 'everything'.]

[Leaning back on the door to close it.]

It's efficient.

[By "efficient" he means piles of nonsense within grabbing range of his chair and bed and horrible cable management.]

[Looking from the pile, to Idia, to the pile again.]

[Right. Anyway, not the point. Fearless puts his hand to his head, starts a sentence while pointing at Idia, and then retracts his hand to start again.

Puts his hand in his pocket, wiggles side to side.]

[He should have known. But there's something so general in Fearless' demeanor that he can't stand right now. Idia doesn't know what to make of it, this anxious churning in his stomach.]

You need to be more specific than that.

[Fearless stops, breathes in, pinches the bridge of his nose.]

I really wasn't a good guy before I got here, Idia. And I'm trying really hard not to be the kind of guy that decks another dude just for making a girl cry.

[A long sigh. He isn't built for this.]

So I just wanna know what's going on.

[That-- visibly shifts Idia's posture. Not the threat, but the fact that Seras has cried? About him?]

[Ah... Oh. Idia presses his lips together, slowly stuffing his hands in his pockets. How would he know? He's quiet for a moment, disappointment weighting his shoulders.]

Did she... say anything? [Closes his eyes tightly, shaking his head-- interrupting himself.] Right, the thrall.

[Granted his understanding of it is. General.]

[If anything, Idia's understanding of it is probably even more than Fearless can conceptualize, just because he's familiar with magic. But as Fearless will point out;]

And, you know, context. And the ability to ask questions.

[Biting the inside of his cheek, staring at a really interesting intersection of cables on the floor.]

Is she... [Rubs a hand at his neck before shoving his hand back into his pocket. He knows the answer to his own stupid question.] What did she say?

[Fearless shakes his head.]

You seem like you've got all your answers, then. What's the point of asking questions?

[It's putting a weird twist on his worry for Seras. Is this just how it's gonna be with the two of them?]

Because, Idia, I like you, is the thing. And that girl more than likes you.

[That's the one thing keeping him from busting Idia's face open.

But posturing... that hasn't worked in the past, has it? Never really seems to. Never really seems to be what the others want to hear.

So Fearless rolls his head back, looks at the ceiling, and takes a breath before looking back at Idia.]

[An unfortunately transparent surprise washes over his features.]

[There's, like, way too much to internalize there. Since when does Fearless like him? Obviously he's misattributing one feeling for another. And Seras-- Idia closes his eyes, shaking his head like it'll clear it out. It doesn't. He gestures rigidly.]

[That would imply she asked something of him or that there was something to be turned down from. But there's not. They're not!]
